A Little About Me

Personally, I am kind of a nerd, in the good way. I am obsessed with gadgets, technology, innovation and everything surrounding them. I love the process of creation and behind the scenes access. I seek out the latest, stay up on what’s new and try understand how it works and fits into the larger technology ecosystem.

I cannot live with out my smartphone and tablet, both as tools and diversions. I am also a music fan with diverse tastes ranging from a capella to rock, country to pop. I love good food and trying new flavors and restaurants. I am an avid reader, and embraced the shift to digital books early. My mind is a steel trap for fun facts, often retaining odd snippets of esoteric trivia. Travel is another passion – I like to explore and dig into a culture and its history wherever I go. I love obscure sports, and have rowed crew in the past. I am currently curling, though not well.

Professionally, I am an account director at WE Communications. My current and past projects span the technology spectrum from enterprise hardware and software to education and apps, with many things in between.

Prior to WE, I was a managing supervisor at Axicom, where my daily duties included media relations, managing reviews, event planning, long term strategic thinking, social media and messaging, to name a few.

I have also worked at Edelman Seattle and Golin Los Angeles on a number of exciting accounts, including Microsoft Zune, Microsoft Surface (the original table version), FEI Company, Industrial Defender, iSold It, Junior Blind of America, Habitat For Humanity, Planar Systems, Inc. and Toyota.

I graduated with a master’s degree in strategic public relations from the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism in 2007. Studies included crisis management, research and evaluation, strategic branding and graphic design. Prior to USC, I attended Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA where I received a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations with minors in broadcasting and advertising. At Gonzaga, I helped create a promotions department for the on campus TV station, GUTV, was president of the Gonzaga chapter of PRSSA and wrote for the Gonzaga Bulletin.
