So you want to know a little bit more about me?
Professionally, I am an Associate at North of Nine Communications, a new marketing and communications agency dedicated to helping clients distinguish their brands in unique ways, with a focus on technology innovations, wherever they appear. I recently helped to establish the Seattle office. My current projects span the technology spectrum from education to comics and many things in between, as well as developing new business. I joined the company from Burson-Marsteller when North of Nine was spun out of the tech practice. My daily duties include media relations, event planning, long term strategic thinking and messaging, to name a few.
Before North of Nine and Burson-Marsteller, I worked in Southern California at GolinHarris Los Angeles and then at Edelman Seattle on a number of exciting accounts, including Microsoft Zune, Microsoft Surface, FEI Company, Industrial Defender, iSold It, Junior Blind of America, Habitat For Humanity, Planar Systems, Inc. and Toyota. I have also provided extensive public relations and communications counsel for Belding Golf Bag Company and Ruckus Rod & Kustom including drafting materials, coordinating media and tradeshow support.
I graduated with a master’s degree in strategic public relations from the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism in 2007. Studies included crisis management, research and evaluation, strategic branding and graphic design. Prior to USC, I attended Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA where I received a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations with a minor in broadcasting and advertising. At Gonzaga, I helped create a promotions department for the on campus TV station, GUTV, was president of the Gonzaga chapter of PRSSA and wrote for the Gonzaga Bulletin.
Personally, I am kind of a nerd, in the good way. I am obsessed with gadgets, technology, innovation and everything surrounding them. I lust after the latest and try and stay up on what’s new and neat. I am also a music fan with diverse tastes ranging from acapella to rock and country to pop. I am an avid reader, and love my Kindle (now Kindle app for iPad).
